Just getting into reloading. I ordered my equipment and now I am looking for dies. My question is, how do I know if I need the 2 or 3 die set and are there any brand of dies I should stay away from? I am loading 6.5x55 to start.

Welcome to the forums!

I would suggest going with a Lee Deluxe 3 die set - here would be the one for you:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000N8OI34?tag=preparcom-20&camp=0&creative=0&linkCode=as1&creativeASIN=B000N8OI34&adid=0FSH24SP8RXGD7F514N6&

What kind of press are you using?

Using the Lee Breech Lock Challenger Kit #90030. Still not sure why I would need a 3 die over a 2 die set though.

The Lee Deluxe set is different as you get both a full length sizing die (nice if you're reloading brass that has been "fire formed" to other guns) as well as the  collet neck sizing die.
